Refund policy

Physical Book Return & Refund Policy

We want you happy with your order.

Eligible unsigned physical books may be returned within 30 days of delivery.

To qualify for a return, the book must be in its original, unread, unused, and resalable condition.

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is the result of an error by Zahra Woods/Onyx & Orchard Press or the product arrived damaged or defective.

Original shipping charges are generally nonrefundable.

Items That Cannot Be Returned

The following purchases are final sale unless they arrive damaged, defective, incorrect, or applicable law requires otherwise:

Signed books
Personalized books
Books containing a personalized message or inscription
Book bundles or boxed/bundle sets
Limited-edition products identified as final sale
Digital products
Gift cards, if offered
Clearance or final-sale merchandise identified as such before purchase

Because signed and personalized books are prepared specifically for the purchaser, they cannot be returned simply because you changed your mind.

And listen. Once Zahra has written your name and a cute little message in that book, that's your book now, beloved. 😂

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Orders

If we made a mistake, we'll make it right.

If your order arrives damaged, defective, or materially different from what you ordered, contact us at zahrawoodsauthoress@gmail.com as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.

Please include:

Order number
A brief description of the problem
Clear photographs showing the damaged or incorrect item and, when relevant, the packaging

Depending on the circumstances and product availability, we may offer a replacement, refund, store credit, or another appropriate resolution.

Please don't return damaged or incorrect merchandise without contacting us first.

E-Books & Digital Products

All e-books, downloadable books, digital bonus materials, and other digital products are final sale once digital access has been provided, except where otherwise required by law.

Please double-check the format before purchasing.

Because digital products cannot meaningfully be "returned" once delivered, refunds generally will not be issued for:

Purchasing the wrong book
Purchasing a duplicate copy
Changing your mind
Not enjoying the story

Preorders

Some books or special products may be offered for preorder before their official publication or availability date.

Any stated release, fulfillment, or shipping date is an estimated date unless expressly identified as guaranteed.

Publishing schedules occasionally change. Printing delays happen. Supply chains decide they need attention. Life starts life-ing.

If a material delay or change affects your preorder, we will provide information when reasonably possible.

Preorders containing both available and unreleased merchandise may ship together or separately depending on how the particular product or promotion is structured. Product pages will provide additional information when applicable.

Cancellation and refund eligibility for preorders will be governed by the terms displayed at purchase and applicable law.

Signed & Personalized Books

Signed books may contain Zahra Woods's signature, a short message, or other personalization depending on the product purchased.

Personalization must be submitted accurately when ordering.

We reserve the right to decline requested inscriptions that contain abusive, threatening, discriminatory, sexually harassing, or otherwise inappropriate language.

Because signed and personalized books cannot ordinarily be returned to regular inventory, all signed and personalized book sales are final, except in cases of damage, defect, fulfillment error, or where otherwise required by law.

Minor variations in signatures and handwritten inscriptions are normal.

She's a person, y'all. The signature is going to signature. 😂

Book Bundles & Special Sets

Book bundles, gift sets, promotional packages, and other bundled products are sold as complete units.

Unless otherwise stated, bundles and sets are final sale.

Individual components of a bundle cannot be returned separately for a partial refund.

If an item within your bundle arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, contact us so we can determine an appropriate resolution for the affected item.

Order Cancellations

If fulfillment has not begun, we may be able to cancel the order.

Once an order has been processed, personalized, packaged, shipped, or otherwise entered fulfillment, cancellation may no longer be possible.

Digital orders generally cannot be canceled after digital access has been provided.

Promotions, Discount Codes & Pricing

Promotional codes must be entered at checkout and generally cannot be retroactively applied after an order has been completed.

Unless otherwise stated, promotions:

Cannot be combined
Have no cash value
May have expiration dates
May be limited to particular products
May be limited to one use per customer or household

We reserve the right to correct genuine pricing, typographical, or technical errors.

If an error materially affects an order, we may contact the purchaser to offer available options, including cancellation and refund when appropriate.

Shipping & Processing Policy

In-stock physical orders are generally processed and shipped within three (3) business days after payment is successfully received.

Business days do not include weekends or U.S. federal holidays.

Preorders, personalized products, special editions, or products specifically identified as having longer processing times may follow a different schedule. When applicable, the estimated timeframe will be stated in the product description.

Shipping estimates provided during checkout are estimates rather than guaranteed delivery dates unless expressly stated otherwise.

Once your package has been transferred to the shipping carrier, transportation and delivery are handled by that carrier. Onyx & Orchard Press cannot guarantee carrier delivery times or prevent delays caused by weather, holidays, service disruptions, incorrect routing, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We will, however, reasonably assist customers with qualifying shipping issues when possible.

The Non-Legal Translation

We'll help where we reasonably can, but we cannot personally chase the mail truck down the interstate.

Shipping Addresses

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address at checkout.

Please review your address carefully before submitting your order.

If you notice an error before your order ships, contact zahrawoodsauthoress@gmail.com immediately. We will attempt to correct it, but changes cannot be guaranteed once fulfillment has begun.

Orders returned to us because of an incomplete, incorrect, or undeliverable address may require additional shipping charges before being resent.

Lost, Delayed & Marked-Delivered Packages

Carrier delays occasionally happen.

A delayed shipment does not automatically mean a package has been lost.

If tracking shows unusual delays, please contact us and/or the applicable carrier so the shipment can be investigated.

If tracking indicates that a package was delivered but you cannot locate it, first check:

Around the delivery location
With household members
With neighbors when appropriate
Apartment/package lockers
Building management or front desk
The shipping carrier

We will reasonably assist with available carrier procedures or claims when appropriate, but replacement or reimbursement for a package marked delivered is not automatically guaranteed and will depend on the circumstances, carrier determination, applicable coverage, and applicable law.
